Minister for Minor Irrigation T.G. Venkatesh and Minister for Minority Welfare Ahmedulla laid foundation for Haj House at Budhawarpet to be constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore. In the first phase, the government sanctioned Rs 3 crore for the Haj Complex which would be the second in the State after the facility at Hyderabad.
Minister for Law E. Pratap Reddy and Collector C. Sudharsan Reddy were also present. Mr. Venkatesh said that he was after the Chief Minister to sanction the amount from the State development. Mr. Venkatesh regretted that he was not properly understood despite his huge contribution for the development of the city.
He said the minor incidents and lapses which were part of the development process were blown out of the proportion to dent his image by the rivals. He called upon people to acknowledge his contribution and track record in the development of the city in the last 20 years.
The Hajz House was coming up on two-acre land.
