Parties slugging it out in Delhi over 'T'

New Delhi: While the state, at least 13 of its districts, seem like a battle ground with people from all sections hitting the roads for the last 60 days, leaders of all key parties in the state are now slugging it out in New Delhi.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu earlier this week met president Pranab Mukherjee, BJP president Rajnath Singh and leaders of Left parties apparently to bring to theor notice, problems faced by people back home. Not one to stop at that, Chandra Babu Naidu wanted to utilize the National Integration Council (NIC) meeting to score brownie points over Congress.

And as the week draws to a close, Congress and YSR Congress leaders found a suitable platform in the Jantar Mantar rally organized by Secretariat Seemandhra Employees Association, to  launch attack on their rival parties.

Union HRD minister Mr.Pallma Raju was perhaps the most senior party functionary from the state to address the rally. He treid to assuage the hurt feelings of the protesting Seemandhra employees, telling them that central Congress leaders of AP are leaving no stone unturned to see that “the Centre will not go ahead to do something that will be a raw deal to one region and a boon to another region.”

YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayamma addressed the  Jantar Mantar rally at length and narrated how Congress has gone through a bumpy road to announce state bifurcation and plunged the state into utter chaos.

Then, it was the turn of state minister Sake Sailajanath to address the Jantar Mantar rally, where he announced that he is in fact openly opposing the CWC resolution to bifurcate the state. He threw his weight entirely behind Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, saying that the stand taken by Kiran is totally justified. He boastfully said:”You cannot find an instance where  a decision of the 125-year-old Congress party has been openly opposed. But this has now taken place for the first time in our state, under the leadership of CM Kiran Kumar Reddy.”

Not to fall behind, TDP deployed few of its seasoned leaders to ‘expose’ what they call the ‘secret understanding’ between Congress and YSR Congress, in an effort to et maximum mileage out of the Congress’ decision on bifurcation. Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu tok potshots at Congres for coming out with the farce of state bifurcation just six months before the schedule of general elections. According to him, Rs1200 crore was withdrawn from banks in Bangalore on the day when Jagan was released on bail. He wanted to know where this money has ended up.

Another TDP leader and Rajya Sabha MP C.M. Ramesh alleged that soon after landing in Delhi, Mrs Vijayamma was accompanied by MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy to meet Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi.According to him, Vijayamma reached Jantar Mantar rally only after holding secret talks with Rahul Gandhi.
