Hyderabad: The Centre is plunging people of Andhra Pradesh into confusion, not being in a position to resolve the complex issues involved in state bifurcation.
Telangana region legislators of the three main parties- Congress, TDP and the TRS- have received phone calls from central intelligence officials, who sought their opinion on the issue of Rayala Telangana.
Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy’s meeting with Congress President Sonia Gandhi is also being seen in this backdrop.
Congress MLA and former state minister Ramreddy Damodar Reddy, TDP MLAs Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Mothkupalli Narasimhulu and L. Ramana received phone calls from IB officials in this regard.
If it was the turn of TRS, BJP, CPI and CPM MLAs to get these phone calls from IB officials on Sunday, TDP leaders also came out with similar revelations. Mostly, leaders of Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, Medak and Khammam districts got these calls.
Except for one or two exceptions, all these MLAs rejected the Rayala Telangana proposal and reiterated the known stands of their respective parties. The MLAs said they are for Telangana of ten districts.
Damodar Reddy demanded that Centre shall stick to the CWC resolution, which called for Telangana of ten districts. Khammam TDP leader Tummala demanded Congress party to reveal its stand on Rayala Telangana.
Speaking to media persons, TDP leader Mothkupalli alleged the talk of Rayala Telangana is a “conspiracy” by Congress high-command and TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao. “KCR does not like Telangana state being carved out. What is he doing in his farm house?” he asked.
TNGOs’ president Devi Prasad objected to the Centre’s attitude of trying to know the opinion of Telangana leaders on the issue, without bothering to know what the thinking of Rayala Seema people is in this regard.
