Sri Kalahasthi: The Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samithi president Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday demanded that the capital of new Andhra Pradesh state should be setup in Rayalaseema region, if bifurcation of the State becomes inevitable.
Speaking to the media here, Rajasekhara Reddy opined that 5,000 acres of land would be sufficient for the capital of new state, and there was no need for one lakh acres land, as claimed by some leaders. The land was available in Rayalaseema region for setting up of new capital of the State. Justice would be made to Rayalaseema region by setting up the new capital in it. He demanded for justice to Rayalaseema region in sharing of river waters. He alleged that the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu and the YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy were enacting dramas on the issue of bifurcation of the state.
