Collector C. Sudharsan Reddy has called upon students to develop a scientific bent of mind and rational thinking.
The Collector inaugurated the 21st National Children’s Science Congress at Sister Stanislas School here on Sunday.
He said 75 per cent of scientific applications were brought into use in the US while India was lagging behind on this front. He asked students to develop an interest in astronomy. Mankind has a lot to know about the universe and the future of mankind will be influenced by astronomical inventions.
He underscored the need for proper facilities in schools and colleges for popularising science. Nearly 260 projects were exhibited at the show.
DEO Nageswara Rao, Deputy EO Shailaja, District Science Officer Jayachandra Reddy, Correspondent of Stanislas School Anoop, Principal of St. Joseph Degree College Y. Showryl Reddy and others were present.
