Two patients die in Kurnool due to oxygen shortage

There has been no power supply in the city since Sunday morning, adding woes to the people. No business or commercial establishment functioned with YSRCP activists enforcing the bandh on third consecutive day. 
Power shortage has crippled medical services at the Kurnool Government General Hospital. Two persons allegedly died due to shortage of oxygen supply in AMC, as the power supply through generators was limited. However, hospitals are not confirming the cause. The two deceased have been identified as Salamma (60) of Banangapalle and T Linganna (45) of Gonegandla village were suffering from high fever and were admitted to the Acute Medical Care (AMC) unit of the hospital three days ago. Meanwhile, tension gripped the railway station are when Samaikyandra agitators tried to stage rail-roko. But their bid was foiled by the police who rushed to the place in large numbers and dispersed the mob.
Around  7 pm, teachers, students and government employees in groups started gathering at the railway station to stage rail-rokho as announced by them earlier. Kurnool superintendent of police K Raghuram Reddy, assisted by 600 police personal, rushed to the spot, even before the agitators could gather at the railway station in sizable numbers.
The police started arresting key leaders of the groups and scared away the agitators.
