Hyderabad: TRS president K Chandrasekahgr Rao has demanded the Centre to complete the process of bifurcation in such a way that “the Centre deals with Telangana in the same way as it deals with the existing 28 states of the country.”
Going by KCR’s remarks, the Centre might be working out a new model for Telangana in order to satisfy the aspirations of Telangana people and at the same time, address the concerns of Seemandhra people.
KCR questioned, “If Hyderabad’s law and order has to be with the Centre, then are Hdyerabad police going to be central government employees or state government employees? Who will pay their pension?”
KCR objected to the reported stand of the UPA government at the Centre to keep law and order. KCR made it clear that joint capital is not agreeable to TRS and the party will make its stand clear in the report to be submitted to the GoM shortly.
Addressing a press conference after the TRS General Body meeting, KCR said that “the Centre cannot “humiliate” the people of Telangana by creating an entity and keeping the law and order of the capital under its control. The brand image of Hyderabad shall be kept intact.
The TRS is finalizing its report to be submitted to the GoM under the guidance of party Secretary-general K. Keshava Rao. The report will be submitted to the GoM in two or three days. KCR called it the ‘Vision document’ for Telangana.
The TRS will give its views to the GoM on various contentious issues that have hogged limelight over the past few weeks.
