Union Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has trashed reports which said that the Telangana note will be discussed in Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.
“No decision has been taken on the Cabinet note and discussion on the subject in the Cabinet meeting. Cabinet discussion on the Telangana note is mere speculation,” Shinde has said.
Shinde also made it clear that the Antony Committee, appointed by Congress high-command to look into issues that will arise after Telangana resolution, has not given its report yet.
However, Shinde added that he has not signed the Cabinet note on Telangana. It has to go to Congress President Sonia Gandhi for approval, Shinde said.
Shinde’s statement came as an anti-climax to the buzz created by some Telugu news channels since morning hours on Thursday.
