Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu has urged the people to maintain restraint keeping AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi’s decision to carve out separate Telangana state.

Speaking to the media here on Monday after discussions with Teachers, APSRTC and Electricity employees’ JACs, Sridhar Babu said the decision on separate Telangana was taken only after several movements and not in hurry. He explained that the Union Cabinet has taken a decision to bifurcate the State only after all political parties gave consent.

Condemning attacks on the properties of PCC chief Botcha Sathyanarayana, Sridhar Babu said he asked the APNGOs to withdraw the ongoing strike keeping the festival season in view. He bemoaned that even devotees were not able to attend the Srivari Brahmotsavams on account of the Samaikyandhra agitation which never happened in the history. He said he had asked the employees to withdraw strike keeping the problems of the common people in view and added that political parties would fight over the  problems.

Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy explained to the employees that anti-social elements were penetrating in the agitation. He said the Cabinet Sub-Committee has asked the Electricity employees to protect the people from power crisis. He said he also asked the APSRTC employees to withdraw the strike keeping in view the festivals. He made it clear that they would go along with the ideas of Chief Minister.
