As Meira Kumar is on a tour of Chandigarh, the three MPs handed over his resignation to Lok Sabha Secretary General. Lagadapati was told by the office of Speaker Meira Kumar to hand over the letter to Secretary-General, as Speaker was touring Chandigarh.
Speaking to media persons later, Lagadapati made it clear that he is resigning without pressure from any quarters. He added that even during the earlier occasion when he resigned on August 2, he was not under pressure.
Reports suggest that anotehr MP who have been championing Samaikyandhra cause, Ananta Venkata Reddy is also contemplating to submit his resignation once again.
