AP: Talks held between the State government and striking APNGOs failed to end the deadlock today.

A cabinet sub-committee comprising Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy held talks with APNGOs leaders which yielded no result.

Speaking to the media later, APNGOs president Ashok Babu said the government failed to give any concrete assurance on the burning issue of bifurcation of the State. The employees would be major losers if the State was divided, he said, adding that the agitation would be continued till the government gave a clear assurance.

The cabinet sub-committee said it would discuss the problems raised by APNGOs in the meeting and the committee members assured us that they would call another meeting, Ashok Babu said.

The indefinite strike by Andhra Pradesh NGOs Association against the proposed division of the State has crippled government services in 13 districts across the Seemandhra region for over a month. More than four lakh employees in 13 districts are on strike demanding that the Centre withdraw its move to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.
