Kurnool, March 07:
The United Muslim Forum has appealed to all political parties in the State to give tickets to Muslim candidates wherever the minority community constitutes 10 per cent in population.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, Forum president Khalid Saifullah reminded the assurances of political leaders, after touring Muslim dominated areas in the State, to allot tickets to Muslim minorities at places like Kurnool, Guntur and so on. Despite their assurances to Muslim minorities, there is danger of the political parties selecting non-Muslim candidates to contest in the Muslim dominated areas.
Saifullah said they would stage a dharna in Kurnool in consultation with the Muslim religious leaders and political parties to demand their share in the electoral tickets.
Forum leaders like Ayub Ali Khan, Syed Sabir Hussain, Abdul Ghani Umri, Imtiaz and others were present. (NSS)
