200 Engineering Students to Webcast Elections

District election authorities are planning to engage as many as 200 engineering students for webcasting the polls from polling stations during the upcoming elections. As many as four elections—municipal, ZPP & MPP, Assembly and Lok Sabha—are being held from March to May.
According to district revenue officer K Shoba, the officials identified 500 engineering students who have their own laptops and are interested in performing election duty. Concerned RDOs were tasked with recruiting them for webcasting the elections. JNTU college of engineering and other colleges have been approached already, she said.
Each student is being offered a remuneration of `500 for the job and in addition soft drinks and snacks will be provided to them.
