MLC Nannapaneni Rajakumari on Sunday demanded Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy to tender an immediate and unconditional apology to the Seemandhra people.
Speaking to the media here, Rajakumari said that Jaipal Reddy’s comments have deeply hurt the Seemandhra people.
She wondered how the Jaipal Reddy could have made such comments against the Seemandhra region, especially since he was a member of the Union cabinet.
The MLC demanded the President and Prime Minister suspend Jaipal Reddy from the Union cabinet for “his undemocratic comments”. She also took strong objection to the attitude of Jaipal Reddy, saying that he was confining himself only to the Telangana area.
Referring to Jaipal Reddy’s comments on Hyderabad, Rajakumar said that earlier, the Union minister had praised Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s administration and the steps he had taken to develop Hyderabad.
TD Krishna district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said that the legislators of his party would vote against bifurcation.
He alleged that YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was supporting the state bifurcation Bill and said that the people would teach a fitting lesson to the YSRC in the forthcoming elections.
Rao said that Jaipal Reddy’s comments were made solely with the aim of getting the Chief Minster’s post.
