17-yr-old girl abducted, raped by neighbours in Kurnool

Kurnool: A 17-year-old girl was abducted, confined to a room at a lodge for a week, and raped allegedly by her neighbours. The abductors later freed the girl. The incident took place inKurnool district.

According to police inspector B Srinivasulu, a missing complaint was registered on January 17. The girl was kidnapped to Kurnool city from Nandavaram. She was confined to a lodge in Kurnool.

The girl, who returned home, lodged a complaint with the police. She alleged that the accused forced her to drink alcohol, and beat her several times.

The police formed a special team to arrest the accused. The police identified the abductors as two of her neighbours. A case was registered under Nirbhaya Act. The girl was sent for medical examination. Local leaders and relatives of the girl staged dharna in the village demanding stern action against the accused.
