To project himself as Samaikyandhra champion, YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is contemplating to undertake yatras to important states in the country to seek support from leaders there to keep AP united.
Reddy, subject to the court’s permission, is keen on visiting states where there is a demand for division, from November 16 to 26 and appeal the leadership there that if they do not support efforts to keep AP united, one day they would not find support if the Centre decides to divide their states.
Reddy would visit Delhi and meet leaders of all national parties including the BJP, “I want to plead with everyone to join hands in preventing AP from being split,” he said at a news conference here on Friday, adding that he was hopeful of getting clearance from the court for his tours. “The CBI and the Congress may be working in league. But I have faith in the courts,” he said. He also wants to tour the state extensively from November 26 to mobilise people against division. he will tour Telangana too but it would be more in the form of Odarpu Yatra for the families whose breadwinners had died following the death of YSR in 2009. “The purpose of my tour in Telangana would be to commisserate with the families. But it would also be to enlist their support for Samaikyandhra cause,” Jagan said.
