New Delhi: The Congress Core Committee took stock of the situation on the Telangana front following Thursday’s meeting of GoM leaving several things undecided.
The Core committee is most likely to discuss the draft report to be prepared by the Group of Ministers.
The core committee meeting took place at 7, RCR the official residence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Congress party president Sonia Gandhi, Defence minister AK Antony, Union Home minister Sushil Kuamr Shinde, and Union Finance minister P. Chidambaram.
The Core committee has invited Union Law minister Kapil Sibal in order to get familiar with the niceties involved in drafting the Telangana Bill.
The core committee discussed issues that are not yet resolved on the bifurcation front, prominent among them being the status of Hyderabad as a common capital, making Hyderabad a Union Territory and the contrary view expressed by MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, sharing of river waters as also the stated positions of leaders in the state.
