Another GoM meet on Nov.14

New Delhi: The Group of Ministers (GoM) set up to expedite the process of Telangana formation had held a marathon four-and-half hour discussions with the Central government officials of various departments on some modalities to be adopted post bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Presided over by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, the other members of the panel, who attended the meeting included: Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh, Union Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad and Minister of State in PMO V. Narayanasamy.

Union Secretaries of eight ministries like HRD, Health and Family Welfare, water resources provided all the information sought by the GoM. With this meeting, the GoM’s task of gathering information from various departmental officials has progressed.

Although Shinde said before today’s meeting, that henceforth the meetings would be held only at the ministerial level, another meeting has been scheduled for November 14.

During the two truncated meetings today, the members of the GoM concentrated on mostly pertaining to the issues related to water resources, power, coal, oil, natural gas, education, medical education and mines.
