President of Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samiti president Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy has charged the Centre with being biased towards Telangana.
Talking to reporters here on Monday, he said the crux of the problem for Rayalaseema was capital and the provisions of the Sribagh Pact. Since the State was going for division and getting reverted to 1953 status, the issue of capital and Krishna Water sharing would arise.
If the Centre had any respect for age-old pacts, it should announce Kurnool as capital and honour Sribagh Pact.
He said the Central government lacked clarity over common capital at Hyderabad. If the Governor or the Centre were to have control over Hyderabad administration, constitutional amendment was required to give Union Territory status to the city. He said it was clearly visible that the Centre was planning to give away Hyderabad to Telangana in a partisan manner. Mr. Reddy accused Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and N. Chandrababu Naidu of rendering great disservice to the Rayalaseema region. Because of their dubious stand, the Congress party took a decision on division of the State.
Centre should declare Kurnool as capital and honour Sribagh Pact, says Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samiti chief
