The state government has issued G.O. No. 954 appointing a High-power committee that will look into the nitty-gritty of merging state-run corporation APSRTC, into the state government.
The development followed after the talks held by state Transport minister and PCC Chief Botsa Satayanarayana with the representatives of employees’ unions, including EU and NMU.
The committee will look into the financial issues that will come in the way of such a merger. the commmitee is madated to give its repport in 100 days.
The Committee will comprise of an Additional secrtery-level officer of the Transport department, an Executive director of the RTC and a representative of RTC trade unions.
There has been a long-standing demand for merging the APSRTC with the government, as it will give a reprieve to the loss-making corporation.
