City-based ENT surgeon B. Jayaprakasa Reddy was awarded two gold medals for his medical papers and surgical procedures at the 37th annual State meeting of Association of Otolaryngologists of India at Guntur recently. Dr. Jayaprakasa Reddy was given the Bayya Srinivasa Rao medal for his paper on improvised surgical procedure for treating perforated eardrum or discharging ear.
Dr. Reddy explained that the procedure called extended tymponmeatal flap reduced the failure rate.
Dr. Reddy also won the Rajan Raju medal for his paper on extracting foreign bodies employing telescopic forceps.
