Hyderabad: Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy made use of his time in the Chanchalguda Jail analysing the political dynamics, statistics and surveys regarding Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies in the state.
Prison sources said that apart from playing badminton for an hour each in the morning and evening, Jagan used to read books related to Irrigation projects.
A jail official said, “It is a big relief for us now that the important prisoner is out of jail. We had taken several measures to protect him all these days as his security was a highly sensitive issue. Apart from that there were a lot of false allegations from other political parties that we were favouring him in jail. We did our best to implement the prison rules. Jagan was a good prisoner who obeyed the orders of the jail officials.”
Jail officials said that Jagan would explain to them the reasons why he was arrested. “He was always found going through the surveys and analysis of political scenarios at the constituency level,” said a jail official.
Jagan has apparently agitated after the bifurcation decision was taken by the Congress high command. “He went through several documents and books related to geography, irrigation and finance issues and all his views were drafted in the letter to the Prime Minister and the President. He has developed extraordinary command over the subjects,” said source close to Jagan’s family.
