Hyderabad: Antony proved them wrong. Several Seemandhra Congress leaders who met Antony on the Telangana issue in the recent past, had lamented that he is not at all heeding to their prayers. They said it is better to plead to a wall than making requests to him. But Friday’s Core Committee meeting seems to have proved them wrong!
Union ministers and MPs of the Seemandhra region have claimed that the Antony Committee has begun a rethink on the issue of bifurcation. The committee has been set up by the Congress high-command to look into the problems and issues arising out of the CWC decision on dividing the state of Andhra Pradesh in to two states.
Union Minsters and MPs of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, spoke to the media after the conclusion of their meeting at the Ministers Quarters in Hyderabad. Union minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao said that they will invite Antony Committee to visit the state and review the situation in the state.
Rao said that the Seemandhra leaders will go to Delhi in order to explain the intensity of people’s agitation to the central leaders.
Another Union minister Chiranjeevi felt that the Antony Committee shall visit all the regions of the state apart from Hyderabad. He reiterated that along with other ministers, he is ready for any type of “sacrifice” to safeguard the state.
Fiery MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar went as far to the extent of claiming that the process of bifurcation has now stopped. He asserted whether it is Congress President Sonia Gandhi or any other leader, a leader has no choice but to take the views of people in to account.
