Breaking News: Crude bomb explodes in Chandni Chowk area of central#Kolkata.
A crude bomb explosion rocked Central Kolkata on Friday in which one person is said to have sustained injuries. The incident took place outside a mall in crowded Chandni Chowk area of the city creating panic in the locality during peak office hours.
They said that a box, which was lying near the crossing of Central Avenue and Madan street, suddenly exploded in the busy area, where people were on way to their offices.
Police immediately rushed to the area along with the city police Bomb Squad and sniffer dogs to ascertain if any other bombs remained planted around the place.
“Fortunately, there is no casualty or injury in the incident. An investigation is on,” the police said.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that the incident was not a serious one. Normalcy has been restored in the entire area,” the police said.
